Chester Rugby Club has teamed up with Legends Rugby, Sale Sharks RFC and Dee 106.3 FM to bring together a fantastic family fun day combined with a Legends Rugby match.

The day begins with a coaching session for junior players from Chester, Mold and Halifax, hosted by players and staff from Sale Sharks. Starting at 3:00pm, former Internationals including Sale Legends Phil Greening, Steve Hanley, Nicky Little and Gavin Kerr will line-up alongside England, Fiji and Scotland Legends, to take on a team of Chester Legends, led by former first XV captain Andy McAdam.

It will be covered by Dee 106.3 FM to help drive maximum awareness of the Babygrow Appeal, Backford Hospice and the continuing development of community rugby in Chester.

Chester Club Chairman, Johnny Beckwith comments: “Whilst we are hugely passionate about rugby at this club, we are also committed to supporting the community. We coach over 450 children every week at Chester RUFC and to be in a position where we can help charities by doing what we love is a great source of pride for everyone connected with the club.”

Adds Legends Rugby Tournament Director Ian Dawson: “We’re thrilled to be supporting Chester RFC and their charity partners to deliver a great day of rugby and family fun. Through Legends Rugby we are committed to sharing the spirit of the game with a wider audience.”
